Contract: 01/12 to 31/05/2027 (payroll; can be extended)
We ARE Renewables is looking for an Epic Owner for one of our clients in the energy/utilities sector. They are looking for someone who can effortlessly engage stakeholders, build support, and drive change. You will be responsible for delivering change, improvements, and innovation across processes, IT systems, and products.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering sector-wide changes in data exchange, energy registers, and data services, with a focus on reliable, traceable, and future-proof data.
- Develop and deliver epics that contribute to the transition towards a data-driven energy market, ensuring alignment between strategy, architecture, semantics, processes, and implementation.
- Bring together network operators, architects, business stakeholders, and IT teams around shared objectives and build support for sector-wide agreements.
- Drive the adoption of new data patterns, registers, and exchange mechanisms, while overseeing the phasing out of legacy solutions.
- Ensure that data quality, governance, semantic consistency, and assurance are integrated into changes from the outset, rather than being addressed afterwards.
Requirements:
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) or WO (university-level) degree, with an academic level of thinking and working.
- Dutch language (is a must have!)
- At least 5 years of demonstrable experience as an Epic Owner, Project Manager, or in a similar role within a complex IT organization.
- Extensive knowledge of the energy market and its end-to-end value chain processes.
- Experience with sector-wide transformation programmes involving multiple Distribution System Operators (DSOs).
- At least 3 years of experience with SAFe, Leading SAFe, or SAFe Lean Portfolio Management. Certification is an advantage. Experience with Jira Align is a plus.
- Knowledge of data architecture, event-driven integration, and data platforms.
- Experience with semantic modelling and data standards.
- Knowledge of data governance, assurance, and compliance.
- Ability to translate architectural frameworks into actionable roadmaps and features.
- Stakeholder management at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
