Technical Coordinator
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Coordinator – IT Continuity & Availability with in-depth knowledge of business-critical IT environments, data centre architectures, continuity solutions and high-availability platforms.
You have a broad understanding of the IT stack, covering infrastructure, networks, middleware, databases, applications and the dependencies between these components. You combine a structured, analytical approach with the ability to quickly understand complex technical challenges, identify risks and translate technical dependencies into clear actions and measurable outcomes.
You understand how complex IT environments function from both a technical and operational perspective and can maintain an overview in environments involving multiple stakeholders, technical disciplines and interdependent systems.
In this role, you will act as a technical point of contact and coordination partner. Rather than prescribing technical solutions, you will help teams identify dependencies, resolve bottlenecks and organise controlled execution. You will combine technical expertise with strong organisational skills to ensure that all parties work together towards predictable, well-managed and thoroughly prepared implementation.
Your Responsibilities
As Technical Coordinator – IT Continuity & Availability, you will play a central role in preparing, coordinating and executing activities designed to safeguard the continuity and availability of business-critical IT services.
Your main focus will be on connecting the teams involved, mapping technical dependencies and coordinating the activities required to ensure a controlled transition between technical environments.
You will work closely with application, platform, infrastructure and operations teams, as well as architects, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting teams in preparing technical scenarios and validating dependencies.
Identifying technical risks, bottlenecks and potential impacts on service continuity and availability.
Developing and maintaining integrated runbooks, execution plans and technical documentation.
Maintaining inventories, technical overviews, project schedules, progress reports and decision-making materials.
Acting as the central point of contact for technical coordination and alignment during the preparation phase.
Monitoring progress during execution, identifying deviations and facilitating collaboration between teams.
Ensuring that risks and issues are escalated in a timely manner and that the necessary decisions are made.
Helping ensure that technical activities are executed in a controlled, predictable manner, with minimal disruption to business-critical services.
The role requires a combination of technical knowledge, stakeholder management and decisiveness. Success will depend on your ability to bring teams together, manage complex dependencies and ensure that continuity and availability activities are delivered in a structured and controlled way.
Your Profile
You combine technical expertise with the ability to create structure, maintain oversight and drive progress in complex IT environments. You do not need to be the deepest technical specialist in every domain, but you must understand the different components well enough to recognise risks, dependencies and bottlenecks and connect the right experts to address them.
In addition, you bring:
Strong understanding of complex IT landscapes and end-to-end system dependencies.
Experience working in high-availability, business-critical and continuity-sensitive IT environments.
The ability to coordinate technical teams and stakeholders without relying on hierarchical authority.
A structured, organised and proactive approach to planning and execution.
Strong analytical skills and an excellent understanding of organisational dynamics.
A clear focus on risk management, impact analysis and informed decision-making.
The ability to act decisively under time pressure and manage competing priorities and interests.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical specialists and management.
The ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear decisions, actionable plans and practical execution steps.
What You Can Expect
You will take on a key coordination role at the intersection of technology, IT operations and management. Your work will help make complex continuity and availability challenges manageable, ensuring that critical activities are properly prepared, risks are understood and execution leads to a controlled and reliable outcome.
Duration: 1 year
Type: Freelance or Payroll
