As a Project HSE Advisor, you play a crucial operational role in ensuring health, safety, and the environment (HSE) at our project site in Germany. For the duration of the project, you ensure that all safety standards are effectively implemented and adhered to. You work closely with site teams, subcontractors, project management, and the client.
In this specific project, we are dealing with work in contaminated soil. Therefore, in this position, you fulfill a key role as an officially appointed safety supervisor in accordance with strict German regulations (TRGS 524).
What will you be doing?
- Statutory supervisor: You act on our behalf (the contractor) as the statutory supervisor during all work in contaminated areas in accordance with TRGS 524.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety obligations: You ensure that all statutory health and safety obligations are strictly adhered to for everyone working on the construction site.
- Coordination and organization: You carry out all organizational and coordinating tasks arising from the safety and health plan.
- Liaison between parties: You ensure continuous, smooth coordination with the client's safety and health coordinator.
- Safety culture: You provide advice, both solicited and unsolicited, proactively identify risks, and make adjustments where necessary to guarantee a safe working environment.
What do we ask of you?
For this role, specific certification is a strict requirement under the contract. We are looking for someone with the following profile:
- You preferably hold a certificate/proof of expertise in accordance with TRGS 524 (knowledge of working in hazardous/contaminated areas).
- Demonstrable work experience in a similar HSE or supervisory role, preferably in construction or infrastructure.
- Extensive knowledge of (German) occupational health and safety legislation (Arbeitsschutz) and its application in practice on the construction site.
- Excellent communication skills (given the context, a good command of the German language is a requirement)
- You are decisive, have strong organizational skills, and can effectively switch between different interests.
