QC Corrosion & Coating Inspector
We ARE looking for a QC Corrosion & Coating Inspector to act as a Resident Inspector for a long-term project based in Balen, Belgium. You will oversee quality inspections and controls related to corrosion protection and coating/painting activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable specifications, standards and norms. The role requires significant experience in shipyard quality inspections, preferably within the offshore industry, and a strong background in corrosion and coating inspection.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Perform quality inspections and controls related to corrosion protection and coating/painting activities.
- Inspect surface preparation, coating application and finished coating systems in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Verify compliance with approved inspection and test plans (ITPs), procedures and quality requirements.
- Monitor coating activities and ensure adherence to applicable technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Identify, document and report defects, deviations and non-conformities.
- Review inspection records, quality documentation and relevant certificates.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Support the resolution of quality issues and follow up on corrective actions.
- Travel to other project locations as required by the project specifications.
- Mandatory: FROSIO Level III certification.
- Mandatory: Significant experience in quality inspections and controls within a shipyard environment, preferably in the offshore industry.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience for a Senior profile or 10–15 years for an Expert profile.
- Specialized experience in corrosion protection and coating/painting inspection.
- Strong knowledge of the following standards: ISO 8501, ISO 11124, ISO 16276, ISO 12944 and NORSOK M-501.
- Experience working on EPCI contracts.
- Very good command of English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Validity of qualifications and certifications must be verified and provided with the technical and commercial proposal.
- Preference for candidates based in Belgium and located close to the assignment site.
- Mandatory requirement: Relevant inspection experience must be clearly demonstrated on the CV.
