Project Engineer Substations
We ARE looking for a Project Engineer Substations service REGIO NO for the technical elaboration of high-voltage infrastructure projects, managing the design and integration of HV components within substations.
You will be the key technical figure between the Project Leader and the engineering office, responsible for the technical coherence and quality of the project design. You can rely on a multidisciplinary team of design engineers and technical experts. You report to the Project Leader. You focus on the technical scope and integration of various domains, while the Project Leader focuses on the organizational aspects. We ARE looking for an analytical and conceptual thinker who can manage complex technical challenges and ensure the functional integrity of the project.
Project Tasks:
As a Project Engineer Substations, you'll support a specific project with the technical elaboration of the scope and design for high-voltage substations (380, 220, 150, 70 and 36 kV). Provide leading technical oversight within the engineering team, ensuring the integration of different domains into a coherent solution. Act as the single point of technical contact for the internal customer, while managing the engineering planning and coordinating with the Project Leader to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution in line with schedule, budget and project requirements.
Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Organize the technical planning of the engineering works.
- Focus on the optimization and technical execution of our substation infrastructure projects.
- Take care of the client’s needs (internal and external) regarding technical solutions.
- Contribute to the efficient realization of the project activities from feasibility study to project closure.
- Manage the interfaces between different technical domains and ensure the design meets quality and scope standards.
- Work closely together with the Project Leader, design team, and technical experts, and you coordinate the engineering activities.
- Communicate and report on the technical progress of the project.
- At least a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanics, or equivalent by experience.
- Technical experience in the high-voltage domain is a strong asset.
- Strong project management and planning skills, with a focus on technical coordination.
- Extensive experience working with analytical and conceptual thinking in a complex technical environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a fluent assertiveness and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Work well in teams, where you are able to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and act as a point of contact for the internal customer.
- You can work autonomously and are a problem-solver by nature.
- You have a hands-on mentality and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Certificates: Not specified, but a strong interest in the energy sector is required.
- Languages: Excellent knowledge of Dutch is a requirement, as this will be the working language of the projects. Proficiency in English is required as well.
Location(s): office in Brussels and remote work (3 days per week after training). Occasional site visits throughout Belgium.
Contract type: Freelance / Self-Employed (ZZP)
Intended contract duration: 26/10/2026 - 31/12/2027
