System Administrator
We currently need support with implementing ISMS measures, cleaning up Active Directory for IAM, implementing security policies, and optimizing patches on critical infrastructure. This is temporary support needed to catch up on technical debt; it is not a permanent role.
As a System Administrator within OT Platforms, you will work on the digital infrastructure behind the energy grid. You will contribute directly to a stable, secure, and future-proof OT landscape that is essential for the reliability of our services.
For a temporary assignment, we are looking for an experienced system administrator to support us in strengthening the technical foundation of our platforms. You will work on improvements in the areas of security, manageability, compliance, and monitoring.
Work to be proud of
Various improvement initiatives will be central to the OT Platforms team in the coming period. We are looking for a practical and experienced system administrator who can handle tasks independently and further enhance the quality of our environment together with colleagues. Your responsibilities include, among other things:
Cleaning up, standardizing, and optimizing Active Directory.
Implementing ISMS measures and security improvements.
Resolving and following up on audit findings.
Processing findings from penetration tests.
Setting up and improving monitoring for the OT domain for the benefit of the Cyber Defense Center (CDC).
Improving management processes and system configurations.
Automating recurring tasks.
You work closely with platform engineers, architects, security specialists, and administrators.
A day as a System Administrator
You start the day with a brief coordination with the team. Next, you analyze a number of audit findings and translate them into concrete improvement actions within our Windows and Linux environments.
Later in the day, you work on cleaning up Active Directory, for example by rationalizing outdated groups, accounts, and permission structures. Together with security colleagues, you determine which measures are needed to make the environment more manageable and secure. On another day, you set up monitoring for new OT platforms so that events become visible to the Cyber Defense Center in a timely manner. You also explore opportunities to further automate management tasks using Ansible.
No two days are the same, but the common goal remains the same: increasing the security, stability, and manageability of our OT infrastructure.
Moving forward with full energy with OT Platforms
You are part of the OT Platforms team within OTI&T. The team consists of specialists in the fields of platforms, infrastructure, security, management, and service delivery. We manage a business-critical OT environment that plays an important role in supporting the energy grid. An open culture prevails within the team, where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ownership are central.
With these qualities, you will continue to grow here
You are a pragmatic system administrator who can work independently and actually implement improvements. You feel at home in complex infrastructures and have an affinity for security and automation. Furthermore, you have:
A completed HBO (higher professional) education
Demonstrable experience with Active Directories and IAM principles
Demonstrable experience with Linux and Windows administration.
Knowledge of identity & access management, hardening, and security measures.
Experience with following up on audit and security findings.
Experience with monitoring solutions and log management.
Experience with Ansible is a strong plus.
Experience within an OT, industrial, or critical infrastructure environment is a plus.
Duration: 31/10/2027 with the option to extend
Start date: Agreed upon
Type: Freelance
Working hours: 40 (hybrid)
