Senior Data Engineer
Voor één van onze opdrachtgevers in de energiesector in Nederland is We ARE Renewables op zoek naar een Senior Data Engineer.
Als Data Engineer bij de klant werk je aan een modern dataplatform en vertaal je complexe datastromen naar betrouwbare, schaalbare oplossingen. Je bouwt mee aan dataproducten die direct bijdragen aan betere besluitvorming, een toekomstbestendig energienetwerk en de verdere professionalisering van de dataorganisatie van de klant. In deze rol pak je niet alleen technische vraagstukken aan, maar begeleid je het team ook op het gebied van kwaliteit, standaardisatie en doorontwikkeling.

Als Data Engineer bouw jij aan een modern Azure dataplatform dat cruciaal is voor de energietransitie. Je ontwerpt, bouwt en beheert schaalbare datapipelines en dataproducten op Databricks. Daarnaast neem je een leidende rol in de verdere professionalisering van het team.
In deze rol werk je end-to-end aan dataproducten: van het ontsluiten van databronnen en datamodellering tot het beschikbaar stellen van data voor rapporten en dashboards. Je weet de bedrijfsinformatiebehoefte te vertalen naar robuuste en toekomstbestendige oplossingen en levert aantoonbare waarde met dataproducten die dagelijks binnen de klantorganisatie worden gebruikt.
Naast je technische taken speel je een belangrijke rol in de ontwikkeling van collega’s. Je coacht data engineers, helpt junior collega’s groeien in hun expertise en draagt actief bij aan kennisdeling binnen het team. Je ontwikkelt documentatie, standaarden en werkmethoden die ervoor zorgen dat oplossingen overdraagbaar en beheersbaar blijven. Daarbij fungeer je als inhoudelijke sparringpartner voor architecten, analisten, Product Owners en BI-specialisten.
Je bent de natuurlijke drijvende kracht achter complexe technische uitdagingen en neemt waar nodig de rol van tech lead op, waarbij je richting geeft zonder de samenwerking uit het oog te verliezen. Dit sluit aan bij de opdracht waarbij coaching, technische oplossingen, dataproducten, documentatie en het tijdelijk vervullen van een tech lead rol centraal staan.
Je komt te werken in het Staven Data Delivery Team. Het team werkt vanuit de vestigingen in Utrecht en de Coolse Poort in Rotterdam. Samen ben je verantwoordelijk voor het ontwikkelen en beheren van dataproducten die organisatiebreed worden ingezet.
Je werkt nauw samen met het BI Team Finance. Hierdoor blijft u dicht bij de gebruikers van uw producten en ziet u direct welke impact uw werk heeft op de dagelijkse besluitvorming binnen de organisatie.
Vakmanschap staat centraal in het team. Je helpt elkaar groeien, deelt actief kennis en investeert volop in coaching en ontwikkeling. Tegelijkertijd geniet je van een gezonde dosis competitie. Het Data Delivery Team staat bekend om de heftige pingpongwedstrijden tijdens BRP’s, waarbij net zoveel passie getoond wordt als bij het bouwen van dataproducten.
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Hoger professioneel of universitair werk- en denkniveau.
- Minimaal 5 jaar ervaring als Data Engineer of in een vergelijkbare rol.
- Aantoonbare ervaring met Databricks, SQL, Python en moderne Azure-dataplatforms.
- Ervaring met datamodellering, inclusief Data Vault en dimensionale modellering.
- Ervaring met het gehele ontwikkelproces van databronextractie, modellering en het beschikbaar maken van data voor dashboards en rapporten.
- Ervaring met dashboarding en samenwerken met BI-teams.
- Ervaring met CI/CD, Git en software-engineeringprincipes.
- Ervaring binnen Agile-, Scrum- en SAFe-omgevingen.
- Ervaring binnen grote en complexe organisaties.
- Ervaar coaching, mentoring en onboarding van junior data-ingenieurs.
Locatie: Utrecht + Hybride
Duur: oktober 2026 – april 2027 (optie tot verlenging)
