Role: Supervisor Brandveiligheid

As a Fire Safety Supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring the daily safety and quality of construction work throughout the entire execution phase, up to and including completion and handover. You provide technical supervision of all activities within the fire safety discipline.

You are involved in multiple projects simultaneously and are part of a multidisciplinary project team for each assignment. In this role, you work closely with Project Managers, fellow Supervisors from other technical disciplines, Project Coordinators, and Safety Advisors. For each project, clear agreements are made in advance regarding tasks, responsibilities, and authorities to ensure efficient execution in accordance with established quality standards.
With your expertise in fire safety, you ensure that projects comply with all requirements and regulations during the construction phase. You verify that work is carried out in accordance with the contract, monitor progress, quality, and safety, and identify deviations in a timely manner. Where necessary, you address involved parties and make adjustments. Depending on the nature and scope of the project, the duties may vary. Broadly speaking, the responsibilities consist of:

• Daily monitoring of compliance with contractual agreements, laws and regulations, technical standards and requirements, quality and work plans, and applicable Schiphol procedures;
 • Drawing up a detailed supervision and coordination plan in collaboration with the Project Manager and fellow Supervisors;
 • Conducting inspections and checks, recording findings, and reporting thereon to the Project Manager;
 • Assessing contractor documents, including working drawings, quality plans, and work plans, and advising on their content and applicability;
 • Inspecting and assessing applied materials and products within the fire safety discipline;
 • Assessing permits and monitoring compliance with the associated conditions;
 • Monitoring the project schedule, identifying deviations, and advising on additional and reduced work, provisional sums, and reimbursable quantities;
 • Participating in construction, work, and coordination meetings;
 • Maintaining accurate construction administration and preparing progress and inspection reports;
 • Guiding the delivery and commissioning of projects and overseeing the transfer of a complete and approved delivery file to the client.

Profile requirements:
• Minimum MBO working and thinking level;

 • Extensive experience supervising new construction and renovation projects within the fire safety discipline;
 • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
 • Knowledge of contract forms and standards such as UAV, UAV-GC, RAW, and STABU;
 • Knowledge of NEN 3140;
 • Experience with testing and commissioning processes;
 • A valid VCA-VOL certificate.

Fire alarm and evacuation systems
 • Fire Prevention Expert Level 1 diploma or equivalent level
 • Fire Alarm System Design Expert in accordance with NEN 2535;
 • Design expert for Evacuation Alarm Systems type A in accordance with NEN 2575.

Sprinkler systems
 • Fire Prevention Expert Level 1 diploma or equivalent level;
 • Sprinkler 1 and Sprinkler 2 or an equivalent qualification;
 • Demonstrable knowledge of NEN 12845:2015 and NEN 1023:2018.
