For the Health, Safety & Environment department, we are looking for an expert in the field of permit applications. Together with the Permits Coordinator and the three Permits Officers, you will monitor timely, correct, and proactive permit applications.

Specific attention will be paid to the permits required for our green steel plans. In the Heracless project, everything is being prepared to start building the new installations. Together with the Permits Coordinator, you will ensure coherence, timeliness, and a correct process for submitting the required permits.
 
Your responsibilities are:
• Ensuring the proper quality of permit applications and monitoring an efficient timeline.
• Ensuring and monitoring effective discussions with the competent authority regarding the permits for Heracless.
o To this end, you coordinate with the Heracless Permit team to ensure the relevant topics are open for discussion.
o Together with the Heracless Permit team, you establish a schedule and deadlines for internal preparation and review.
• You provide solicited and unsolicited advice regarding the permitability of designs.
• Ensuring effective collaboration and division of labor with the Heracless Permit team and the in-house Permit Office.
• You ensure accurate and timely correspondence and consultation with the government, and thereby manage to get things done.
• You ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed of the correct information and maintain good relationships with stakeholders regarding permits.
• You maintain proper administration and ensure that all documents and applications are archived in a correct and organized manner.
 
Profile requirements:
• Extensive and demonstrable experience with applying for or granting environmental permits.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• A completed university degree. An environmental engineering and/or legal background is a plus.
• You are able to bridge the gap between permit professionals and the professionals in our production department.
• Analytical and solution-oriented thinking skills. You are able to phase processes and distinguish between main and secondary issues.
• You thrive in a complex environment where you are able to build bridges. This also means that you are persistent and flexible.
• You are able to sense the conflicting priorities that may arise between production, project progress, legal constraints, and overarching goals during an application. And subsequently, you know how to find solutions.
