Site Manager – Offshore Wind (Operations / Team Leadership)
As a Site Manager – Offshore, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and leadership of an offshore wind service operation. You will act as the key link between offshore operations management, operational teams, and the client, ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
You will provide operational leadership to Shift Supervisors and Technical Support teams while coaching and developing personnel. Although the role is primarily based from an office in IJmuiden, you will regularly be present offshore to support operations, maintain visibility, and provide hands-on leadership when required.
What will you do?
- Provide operational leadership to Shift Supervisors and Technical Support teams.
- Coach, guide, and develop offshore personnel and contribute to team performance.
- Coordinate daily offshore operations and monitor progress against schedules and plans.
- Prepare operational plans and shift schedules, ensuring the effective deployment of people and resources.
- Maintain an overview of operational activities and ensure the right resources, information, and equipment are available at the right time.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement appropriate solutions.
- Initiate and drive improvements to optimize operational processes, efficiency, and asset availability.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Provide clear progress updates and proactively communicate risks, challenges, and operational developments.
- Coordinate effectively between offshore teams, management, and client stakeholders.
- Conduct and contribute to risk assessments and actively promote a safe working environment.
- Support the continuous development of offshore operations, processes, and team capabilities.
- Regularly travel offshore to support operations and provide visible leadership.
What do you bring?
- HBO-level education and professional working/thinking level, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrable leadership experience within offshore wind turbine operations.
- Several years of experience as a Service Technician, Team Lead, Supervisor, Site Manager, or similar role within offshore wind.
- Strong understanding of offshore wind turbine service, maintenance, and operational processes.
- Experience managing teams and coordinating people, resources, schedules, and operational activities.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to maintain a clear overview and make effective decisions under time pressure.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- NEN 3140 and NEN 3840 certifications.
- Valid GWO certifications and medical certificate are preferred, or willingness to obtain them quickly.
- VCA-VOL certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- B driver's license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Working model: Hybrid, with IJmuiden as the primary base
Offshore work: Regular presence offshore to support operations and provide leadership
Employment: Fixed-term contract with potential for permanent employment
Vacation: 25 vacation days + 13 ADV days
Travel allowance: €0.30 per kilometre
Work-from-home allowance: €22.50 net per month
