QA/QC Lead – Foundations MP
Role Overview:
We ARE seeking an experienced QA/QC Lead to support the fabrication of offshore wind Monopile Foundations. Based in Middlesbrough, UK, with travel to fabrication yards in Spain and Germany, you will lead the site inspection team, support the Foundation Quality Manager, and ensure fabrication activities comply with project specifications, contractual requirements, and offshore industry standards.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the Site Inspection team throughout fabrication activities.
- Ensure compliance with project quality plans, specifications, and offshore standards.
- Perform and oversee inspections, surveillance, and witnessing of welding, NDT, coatings, dimensional control, and fabrication activities.
- Review quality documentation, including ITPs, welding procedures, inspection reports, and fabrication records.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor quality performance and resolve non-conformities.
- Participate in audits, quality meetings, readiness reviews, punch list inspections, and final walk-downs.
- Prepare quality reports and maintain inspection records using LetsBuild (Aproplan).
- Support the review of As-Built documentation and capture lessons learned.
- Extensive QA/QC experience within offshore wind, offshore oil & gas, or heavy steel fabrication.
- Strong experience with Monopiles, Transition Pieces, Jackets, Offshore Substations, or similar offshore structures.
- Proven knowledge of welding, NDT, coatings, and fabrication quality processes.
- Experience working to DNV, NORSOK, and other offshore standards.
- Previous experience leading inspection teams or working in a QA/QC supervisory role.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Fluent English.
- Mandatory requirement: Relevant offshore fabrication QA/QC experience must be clearly demonstrated on the CV.
- CSWIP Welding Inspector (or equivalent).
- CSWIP / FROSIO Coating Inspector (or equivalent).
- PCN or equivalent NDT certification.
- Quality Auditor qualification.
Location: Middlesbrough, UK, with travel to Spain and Germany.
Contract: Freelance/Self-Employed
Duration: 07.09.2026 - 30.12.2027
