Works Manager (Senior) - Subsea Cables
You will be responsible for the operational execution of the works on site. You can rely on a team of site superintendents and project engineers. You report directly to the project manager. You focus on the bigger scheme of things whereas the superintendents deal with day to day issues. We ARE looking for an experienced Works Manager who can manage (large) offshore subsea cable installation projects, having both a strong engineering but also installation background.
Project Tasks:
As a Works Manager you'll support a specific project with barge operations for Cable Installation, Cable Burial, Termination and Testing and Pull Ins.
Provide combined offshore installation management and works management for the cable installation spread. Single point of accountability for HSE, POB and emergency response, while managing and coordinating daily cable installation, cable burial, pull-in, termination and testing operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution in line with schedule, budget and project requirements.
Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Organize the planning of the works.
- Focus on the optimization and execution of our subsea cable installation projects.
- Take care of the client’s needs (internal and external).
- Contribute to efficient realization of the project activities.
- Organize the planning of the works.
- Manage QHSE-S standards and keep the project within time and budget.
- Work closely together with Superintendents and Project Engineers on site and you coordinate the operational staff.
Your profile / Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience with complex offshore engineering projects is required.
- Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, preferably with a specialization in construction, or the equivalent by experience.
- Strong project management and planning skills.
- Extensive experience working in Highsafety environments.
- Good communication skills and able to take a critical view towards the works to be carried out.
- Work well in teams, where you are able to support the other persons in your team and lead the workforce in the field.
- You can work autonomously and are a problem-solver by nature.
- You have a hands-on mentality.
- Certificates: Offshore Medical Certificate, Chester Step, STCW Basic Safety Training, GWOs.
- Languages: Fluent in Dutch is preferred and a very strong asset, Fluent proficiency in English is required (written and spoken). Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
Rotations: are not yet fully clear and will depend on projects and vessels
Contract type: Freelance / Self-Employed
Intended contract duration: 15/08/2026 - 31/12/2026 (with extension possibilities)
