About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Officer – Alternative Investments Administration to join the operations team of a leading asset management organization in the Netherlands.

This position focuses on financial accounting, reporting, and operational process management within an alternative investments environment. It is ideal for professionals with a strong background in finance operations who enjoy working with complex financial data, ensuring reporting accuracy, and coordinating critical operational deliverables.

Please note: This is not a portfolio management or business analyst position.

This is a 36–40 hour per week opportunity with the possibility of extension. During the onboarding period, the successful candidate is expected to work fully on-site. After onboarding, a hybrid working model applies, requiring on-site presence two days per week at the Heerlen office.

Key Responsibilities

As an Officer – Alternative Investments Administration, you will be responsible for:

Recording recurring financial transactions, including cash flows, valuations and investment commitments within internal systems.
Performing detailed quality checks on financial data received from internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preparing recurring financial reports and management information, including:
Financial statements
Cost overviews
Investment reports
Movement schedules
Cash flow forecasts
Coordinating with internal departments and external service providers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information.
Taking ownership of end-to-end coordination for key reports and operational deliverables involving multiple team members.
Creating project timelines, monitoring progress, reviewing work quality, and taking corrective actions where required.
Coaching and supporting junior colleagues while performing quality reviews of their work.
Representing the team in cross-functional operational initiatives and projects, ensuring the team's interests are effectively communicated and safeguarded.
Continuously identifying opportunities to improve operational processes and reporting quality.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Financial Economics, Business Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a financial operations, accounting, or financial reporting role.
Demonstrated progression in responsibilities throughout your career.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting principles.
Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues.
Excellent planning, prioritization, and workload management skills.
Solid project coordination or project management experience.
Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and think creatively when challenges arise.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Dutch is considered an advantage.

Additional Information
Location: Heerlen, Netherlands (Hybrid)
Working hours: 36–40 hours per week
Work arrangement: Fully on-site during onboarding, followed by two on-site days per week.
Contract: Initial contract with the possibility of extension.
Employment type: Payroll/employment only - we can put you through our payroll partner (not suitable for freelance/ZZP professionals).
