Senior Network Administrator
We ARE Renewables is looking for a Senior Network Administrator for one of our clients in the energy sector.
The primary responsibility of the Senior Network Administrator is to ensure the 'health' of the telecom network. The clients telecom network must function with excellent quality for the services transported over it. This quality is guaranteed by the clients NMC through the execution of proactive and reactive management tasks. This also includes tasks belonging to the Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes. The complex tasks within this scope fall within the responsibility of the Senior Network Administrator, who also ensures the retention of knowledge regarding the management tasks within the team.
The Senior Network Administrator also handles the implementation activities linked to Solution Design to manage new services and/or network components. All of this is done in a controlled manner, whereby the Senior Network Administrator also ensures the application and safeguarding of the acceptance criteria.
Task and Responsibilities
- Performing proactive, complex technical management tasks.
- Performing (2nd level & 3rd level) Incident Management on the client Telecom network.
- Creating Change Implementation Plans (CIPs), and deploying them across the network.
- Reviewing Designs & writing, checking, and securing the management technical acceptance criteria for new network technical Designs.
- Participate in project teams & take on project-related tasks applicable to network implementation & network management.
- Monitor the lifecycle of network technical solutions together with architects, designers, and suppliers, and provide input for multi-year plans.
- Writing procedures for proactive and reactive management tasks.
- Active role in the Change and Problem Management process.
- Active role in the Life Cycle Management process for the equipment & infrastructure managed by the NMC
- Active role in Application Management for advising on, implementing, and keeping the (tooling) technical setup of the NMC up to date.
- Coaching Network Administrators
- You have at least 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer / Network Administrator at a NOC/NMC
- You have completed a Bachelor's degree in ICT or higher (for example, a degree in (Technical) Informatics).
- You have broad knowledge of network equipment from various vendors such as Cisco, Nokia, Juniper, and Fortinet.
- You hold CCNP/JNCIP certification.
- You have extensive experience working with routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, and BGP.
- You have extensive experience with Ethernet/MPLS and IP networks.
- You have extensive experience with firewalls
- You have good process-related knowledge (ITIL certification is a plus).
- You are and enjoy working in a solution-oriented manner and can work both independently and as part of a team.
- You are accurate and work in a structured manner towards the team's objectives.
- You speak fluent Dutch.
- You are willing to participate in breakdown and on-call duty.
- You are willing to take training programs and courses. We believe it is important that you continue to develop yourself.
Location: Delft + Hybrid
Duration: July 2026 – July 2027 (Permanent is a possibility)
