System Architect Data & Analytics
We ARE Renewables is looking for a Senior System Architect Data & Analytics for one of its clients in the Dutch energy sector.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and govern the Data & Analytics architecture across value streams, ensuring consistency across teams and platforms
- Define and maintain the overall data architecture vision, including principles, standards, and architectural direction
- Align and integrate data platforms, data warehouses, data models, data pipelines, and analytics solutions into one coherent landscape
- Manage the architectural runway (3–12 months) and ensure dependencies, enablers, and decisions are planned and executed
- Act as the central coordination point between data teams, platform teams, enterprise architecture, Product Management, and RTE
- Drive and structure architectural decision-making, ensuring the right stakeholders are involved and accountable
- Monitor and escalate risks related to data quality, scalability, performance, governance, and reuse
- Enable delivery teams by providing clear architectural frameworks without taking over execution responsibilities
- Ensure consistency in data-driven and event-driven architecture approaches across the organization
- Translate strategic data objectives into actionable architectural guidance and alignment across stakeholders
Requirements:
- +10 years of experience as a System Architect, Data Architect, or Analytics Architect in complex, data-driven environments
- Strong background in Data & Analytics architecture (data platforms, data lakes/warehouses, data modeling, data integration, data flows)
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions, preferably AWS (data pipelines, data lake architectures, analytics platforms)
- Strong knowledge of architecture principles such as data contracts, reusable data services, governance-by-design, and platform thinking
- Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments, with clear understanding of roles between architecture, teams, and delivery
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills in complex organizational environments
- Ability to translate strategic objectives into clear architectural direction and governance structures
- Results-driven mindset with focus on scalability, quality, and long-term sustainability
- Experience in the energy or utilities sector, preferably with grid operators (preferred)
- Experience with Java or Kotlin (preferred)
- Experience in or close to technical project management within large-scale environments (preferred)
Additional Requirements:
- Hybrid working model (Amersfoort + remote)
- 32–40 hours per week availability
- Freelance / Temporary Staffing assignment
- Start date: ASAP
- Assignment duration: until end of 2026
- Role is strongly coordination- and architecture-driven (not hands-on development)
