Coating Inspector
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Quality Control of the Primary Steel manufacturing in regards to coating work;
- Undertake daily audits of random coating stations, checking all aspects of the process including environmental conditions, paint mixing, DFTs, material traceability etc.;
- Ensure coating inspections are conducted as per requirements/specifications;
- Attend inspections when notified by Contractor in accordance with agreed ITP eg. blasting, visual inspection, DFT control checks etc.;
- Review and verify coating records during the fabrication process;
- Manage closure of coating aspects from punch list prior to load out.
Requirements/Your profile:
- Coating level 3 ICORR/FROSIO/NACE/BGAS/CSWIP or equivalent;
- Extensive experience and good understanding of the manufacturing and coating of offshore components or large fabricated structures;
- Significant practical experience working in a similar role;
- Experience in dealing with Contractors/Sub-Contractors monitoring of surface preparation and coating processes for compliance
- Professional standard of written and spoken English with preferable knowledge of local language;
- Qualified to use inspection instruments for the purposes of occasional cross checks;
- Health and safety qualifications as required;
- GWO Basic Safety Training, Working at Height, First Aid at Work, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness.
- VCA Basic certificate
- IT literate in Microsoft Office;
- Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Project Inspection and test Plans (ITPs);
- Able to review manufacturing records and drawings;
- Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication standards ISO, EN, DNV and other industry norms;
- Able to work with minimal supervision;
- Full valid driving license.
