We are looking for a Senior Test Manager / Test Lead for one of our clients in the telecom and critical infrastructure sector, to strengthen their team on a freelance basis in the Netherlands.

As a Senior Test Manager, you will be responsible for setting up, coordinating, and leading all testing activities within the LTE-M program. You ensure that the Network, IT, and Transport domains are tested and validated end-to-end within a new telecom infrastructure for critical grid operators. You safeguard the quality, security, and reliability of a highly regulated telecom system.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage test strategies and detailed test plans for Network, IT, and Transport within the LTE-M program
  • Define the end-to-end test approach, including scope, planning, dependencies, risks, and entry/exit criteria
  • Translate requirements into test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria together with technical leads and suppliers
  • Set up, manage, and optimize test and lab environments (infrastructure, network, tooling, and data)
  • Coordinate and oversee functional and non-functional testing (performance, security, load, failover, continuity, availability)
  • Analyze test results and follow up on defects with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Report progress, quality, risks, and test results to program and steering committees
  • Advise on test readiness and support go/no-go decisions for management and release teams
  • Continuously improve test processes, standards, tooling, and collaboration between all stakeholders

Requirements / Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Manager or Test Lead in telecom environments
  • Experience with mobile networks (preferably 4G / LTE-M)
  • Strong knowledge of BSS/OSS systems and telecom architectures is a strong plus
  • Experience with end-to-end system, integration, and non-functional testing
  • ISTQB certification is required
  • Experience setting up test strategies and test environments
  • Strong collaboration with technical teams and suppliers
  • Analytical, accurate, and quality-driven mindset
  • Experience in complex, critical, or regulated environments is a plus
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus

Location: Vianen, Netherlands
Remote: Hybrid (50% onsite)
Contract type: Freelance / Contracting
Duration: 18 months (possible extension)
