Veiligheidskundige
As a Safety Specialist, you ensure that safety is thoroughly safeguarded within complex civil/infrastructure construction projects, both in terms of content and behavior on the work floor. You maintain a visible presence during execution and actively promote safe working practices.
You apply your talents to:
• Assessing and actively applying Health and Safety plans and work plans during execution;
• Monitoring compliance with relevant laws and regulations (Occupational Safety and Health Act, Building Decree, etc.) on the construction site;
• Conducting daily safety inspections at project locations;
• Identifying risks and immediately implementing control measures;
• Actively address employees and contractors regarding unsafe behavior and escalate where necessary;
• Promoting a proactive safety culture through coaching and communication in execution;
• Registering, analyzing, and reporting incidents and near misses;
• Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure safety from execution, from design to delivery.
Within Portfolio Delivery, as a Safety Specialist, you are part of our Construction Management (CM) department. This team focuses primarily on civil engineering works such as runways, taxiways, aircraft parking areas and roads, lighting, electrical substations, drainage, cables and pipelines, etc.
Profile Requirements
• Secondary Safety Engineering (MVK) Training;
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
• At least 3 to 5 years of demonstrable work experience as a safety expert in the execution of civil construction and infrastructure projects;
• Demonstrable experience working in an operational role on the construction site (hands-on), not exclusively advisory;
• Experience with Health and Safety plans, Risk Inventories and Evaluations, and safety inspections in practice;
• Experience within complex infrastructure project environments (preferably comparable to Schiphol) is a strong advantage;
• Broad applicability within civil projects (not exclusively sector-specific experience such as only rail or petrochemicals);
• Strong communication skills enabling you to build support for safety measures. You must have the courage to intervene and escalate where necessary.

Contract: ASAP until December 2027
