About the Role
As a Werkvoorbereider you are the key link between customers, production, and supply chain. You ensure that orders are technically and organizationally well-prepared so that production runs efficiently and according to schedule.
You work within a machine shop environment on high-quality products for the oil, gas, and geothermal industries. In this role, you are responsible for translating customer requirements into clear production instructions while ensuring compliance with internal and external procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare work plans and order documentation (BOM/routing in ERP systems such as JD Edwards)
- Translate customer orders into clear and actionable production instructions
- Create and/or review technical drawings (CAD/CAM)
- Advise on manufacturability, workflows, and process setup
- Support calculation activities and cost estimations
- Analyze production times and propose improvements
- Manage procurement of materials and outsourced activities
- Coordinate with planning, workshop, and supply chain teams
- Ensure timely availability of materials
- Maintain and process orders in ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Maintain communication with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Support production and resolve technical issues
- Contribute to process improvements and new product development initiatives
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications
- MBO+ level (technical or administrative field) or equivalent experience
- (Junior) experience in a similar role within a production or machine shop environment
- Proficiency in Dutch and English (German is a plus)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Familiarity with CAD systems (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Knowledge of machining techniques and materials
- Experience in manufacturing environments related to oil, gas, or heavy industry
- Exposure to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
