Payroll Officer
Role Overview:
We ARE seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to support payroll operations within a growing international organization in the Netherlands. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for national, international, and maritime employees, while acting as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, process, and reconcile national, international, and maritime payrolls.
- Review payroll reports to ensure accuracy of salary calculations and variable data.
- Perform month-end closing activities and deliver payroll reporting to internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Planning) and external parties (tax authorities, pension providers).
- Handle payroll and personnel administration, including contract preparation, timesheet collection, and processing of expense claims.
- Maintain and update employee data within HR and payroll systems.
- Support foreign tax declarations and ensure compliance with international payroll requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for employees regarding salary, leave, and sick leave queries.
- Prepare cost calculations and ensure employee benefits (pension, disability, health, and other insurances) are up to date.
- Ensure payroll is processed in line with Dutch collective labor agreements (CLA “Bouw & Infra” and “Waterbouw”).
- Diploma in Payroll Practice (PDL); VPS certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch payroll legislation (including pensions and 30% ruling).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Previous experience in payroll administration is preferred.
- Experience with PayMaster payroll software is an advantage.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive and customer-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of pension schemes and employee insurances is a plus.
