Your Role

As an IT Domain Architect within the Asset domain, you will be responsible for ensuring that the IT landscape supporting infrastructure and asset operations is coherent, secure, and future-proof.

This is a highly strategic and hands-on role where you act as the bridge between business vision and technical execution. You will translate complex business needs into scalable IT architectures, ensuring alignment with long-term strategy, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

Collaborate closely with Business Architecture to translate business capabilities into actionable IT roadmaps
Convert complex processes into detailed IT blueprints guiding delivery teams
Ensure architectural consistency across solutions within the Asset domain

Governance & Standards

Define and enforce domain-specific architectural principles aligned with enterprise standards
Present and defend architectural decisions in governance forums (e.g., Architecture Review Boards)
Maintain Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) to ensure transparency and long-term maintainability
Monitor risks, technical debt, and SLA/OLA performance

Application & Portfolio Management

Maintain a clear overview of the application and platform portfolio within the domain
Conduct regular portfolio assessments (e.g., TIME, 6R methodologies)
Identify opportunities for optimization, reuse, and cost reduction
Ensure alignment across the full lifecycle: build, run, evolve, and retire

Strategic Advisory

Perform trade-off analyses (cost, risk, complexity, time-to-value) to support decision-making
Review solution architectures for consistency and quality
Define and maintain domain roadmaps aligned with technological and regulatory evolution
Advise senior stakeholders on long-term architectural implications

Data & Integration

Collaborate with Data and Solution Architects on data models, ownership, and integration patterns
Ensure interoperability across enterprise systems, operational technologies, and analytics platforms
Drive data consistency and quality across the domain

Security, Resilience & Compliance

Embed security, availability, and resilience requirements into all architectures
Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Define strategies for business continuity and disaster recovery
Your Profile

You are a delivery-focused architect who thrives in complex environments where business, technology, and operations intersect.

Strong communicator with the ability to engage both senior stakeholders and technical teams
Strategic thinker with a long-term vision on scalability, resilience, and compliance
Collaborative leader, working effectively across multiple architecture disciplines
Confident in governance environments, with ownership of architectural decisions

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and modeling languages like ArchiMate
Hands-on experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Storming, and Agile Architecture
Familiarity with evaluation methods such as ATAM and portfolio frameworks like Gartner TIME

Industry Experience

Proven experience within the Energy & Utilities sector or similar infrastructure-heavy environments
Understanding of asset management systems, IT/OT integration, and operational constraints
Awareness of security, regulatory, and risk considerations in critical infrastructure contexts

Languages

Native or fluent in Dutch, French, or German, with professional proficiency in English
Additional language skills are considered an asset
