Job Description: Site Engineer AC Substation

Location: Vlissingen or Schiedam (Netherlands) – 5 days/week on-site
Start: 07/04/2026

The Role

We are looking for a Site Engineer to join the construction of two AC substations for Belgium's first energy island. You will be the on-site technical representative at the shipyard, ensuring quality and progress during the outfitting phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as technical owner for on-site issues during outfitting

  • Coordinate inspections and review contractor documentation

  • Serve as SPOC between site team and engineering department

  • Manage quality processes (non-conformities, inspections reports)

  • Support Construction Manager in site team coordination and reporting

  • Coordinate vendors coming on site

  • Maintain internal systems for inspection data and communication

What You Bring

Required:

  • Engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical)

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience

  • Experience with multiple disciplines on construction sites

  • VCA VOL/SCC supervisor's certificate

  • Fluent English

  • Own PPE (safety shoes, helmet, hi-vis, glasses, ear protection, gloves)

  • Available 5 days/week on-site in the Netherlands

Preferred:

  • Offshore or topside outfitting experience

  • Quality Control/Assurance background

  • Dutch language skills

  • Aconex knowledge
