Automation Test Engineer 

About the Role
We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer to ensure software quality for critical applications in the energy sector. You will design, execute, and automate tests while working in an Agile team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Write test plans and scenarios based on project documentation

  • Prepare and manage test data

  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and non-functional tests

  • Document results with logs and screenshots

  • Implement and maintain automated test suites

  • Report and track defects in bug-tracking tools

  • Collaborate with developers to ensure quality before deployment

  • Give go-ahead for deployment from test to acceptance environment

Task Breakdown

  • 30% Test specification

  • 30% Test automation

  • 30% Test execution & defect follow-up

  • 10% Test reporting

Requirements

  • Proven experience in test plan and scenario writing

  • Strong test automation and scripting skills (e.g., Python)

  • Basic SQL and NoSQL knowledge

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum teams

  • RobotFramework experience is a strong asset

  • Understanding of APIs, web services, frontend, and backend

  • RabbitMQ, DevOps, or security testing experience is a plus

  • Fluent in English; French or Dutch is a plus

  • Autonomous, critical thinker, pragmatic, and result-driven

Work Setup

  • Brussels (hybrid: up to 3 days/week remote)

  • Full-time

  • Valid Belgium work permit required for non-EU candidates
