Project Engineer – Substations
As a Project Engineer – Substations, you contribute to the development of high-voltage infrastructure projects (380kV, 220kV, 150kV, 70kV, 36kV). You act as the technical link between the Project Leader and external engineering partners, ensuring design quality, technical coherence, and functionality throughout the full project lifecycle.
You work within the Infrastructure Projects department and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to feasibility studies and technical scope definition
- Perform preparatory technical studies and support conceptual design
- Guide and monitor engineering firms during detailed design phase
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and RAMS criteria (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety)
- Coordinate interfaces between disciplines (substations, protection & automation, lines, construction, telecom)
- Provide technical support during execution phase
- Monitor progress, scope, and quality of deliverables
- Report to and support the Project Leader
Profile Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanics (or equivalent through experience)
- Experience in high-voltage infrastructure is a strong asset
- Strong interest in the energy sector
- Knowledge of Dutch and French (English is a plus)
Start: ASAP
- Location: Brussels
- Region covered: East & West Flanders + Hainaut
- Hybrid model after onboarding (3 days remote)
- Site visits required (approx. 2 per month during preparation & construction phases)
