Safety Expert (MVK)
As a Safety Specialist, you'll ensure safety awareness within the organization, both on our projects and at our office locations. Our projects include new construction, renovations, and refurbishments of high-voltage substations and/or high-voltage connections. As a safety expert, you'll be involved in our projects and support the project manager in developing and maintaining the health and safety plan. You'll also participate in construction meetings, regularly walk around various project sites, and coach the project team. All with one goal: improving safety.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Conducting incident investigations and reporting and advising on these.
- Providing solicited and unsolicited information and advice on personal safety and health matters on projects.
- Suggesting topics for toolbox meetings and preparing the content together with project managers.
- Ensure proper safety introduction of all new project employees.
- Advising project management on organizing kick-off meetings.
- In your role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and disseminating knowledge within the organization regarding one or more assigned HSE-specific themes (including any associated regulations and (certification) systems). You will also provide policy advice to the HSE manager on these themes.
- You will support the project team in initiating, developing, and implementing project-related occupational health and safety (OHS) and environmental processes and plans. You will monitor compliance with OHS processes and plans on projects. You will also be responsible for conducting process and system audits, preparing reports, and conducting workplace inspections on projects.
- An MVK diploma
- At least 3 years of work experience in a similar position and experience, preferably with (civil) construction projects.
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VCA P and safety ladder certifications.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language (oral and written).
- Important competencies are : a flexible attitude, accurate work, identifying improvements and planning/organizing.
