We ARE Renewables is currently seeking an experienced Ecologist (Key Function Ecology) on behalf of our client.
Within our project team for the strengthening of the IJsselmeer dike, we are looking for a Key Function Ecology. This is a qualified ecologist who, during both the design and execution phases, will hold responsibility for the ecological quality of the project and act as the expert point of contact for the Client. In addition, he/she will serve as a sparring partner and advisor to the project team on ecological matters.
The Key Function Ecology must have experience with:

  • Developing and establishing reed beds;
  • Designing and implementing an ecological monitoring program, including execution, to demonstrate compliance with permit requirements;
  • Contributing to the design of a foreshore in the IJsselmeer;
  • Advising on ecological permitting requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the IJsselmeer region or similar areas is an advantage;
  • Proven experience as an Ecologist in Dutch waters is required;
  • Relevant project experience, such as dike reinforcement;
  • Hands-on mentality to deliver assignments in close cooperation with project partners, with a pragmatic approach being essential;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable environment and projects;
  • Academic background in Dutch (Aquatic) Ecology;
  • Fluency in Dutch is mandatory.

The Key Function Ecology will be part of both the environmental team and the technical team of the project.
Engagement:
Initially around 2 days per week for a duration of 1 year. Reporting and meetings will be conducted in Dutch.
