Mission Equipment Engineer
This position operates at the core of offshore activities from the base in Vlissingen, managing a wide variety of mission equipment — the specific, often complex tools and systems mobilized on vessels for tailored project needs. Unlike fixed onboard systems, this equipment travels from project to project, and the Mission Equipment Engineer is its expert caretaker between assignments.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the maintenance and repair of mission equipment like frames, grippers, cable lay carousels, tensioners, pile handling equipment, when not in operation, ensuring every piece is operationally fit and certified. Tools such as Maximo are used to manage repairs, track history, and maintain accurate maintenance plans.
- Lead a small, hands-on team of two technicians and coordinate third-party specialists when required.
- Maintain a clear overview of the equipment inventory across the fleet, using systems like Ops365 to manage reservations, avoid double bookings, and guide asset transfers during mobilization and demobilization.
- Provide support during vessel and project preparation phases, contributing to the efficient and safe deployment of equipment and personnel while adhering to QHSE-S standards.
- Monitor budgets, manage spare parts effectively, and ensure documentation, certificates, and drawings remain up to date.
- Strong technical background, ideally with experience in hydraulics or electro-mechanical engineering. For example, experience comparable to that of a Chief Engineer, with readiness for an onshore challenge.
- Knowledge of Maximo, Office 365.
- Natural leadership qualities, strong coordination skills, and people management abilities.
- A team player with a hands-on mindset, flexibility, and eagerness to learn.
