🌍 Project Context

Our client is a leading European transmission system operator playing a pivotal role in the continent’s energy transition. In support of national and cross-border climate targets, they are executing a portfolio of large-scale 2GW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) offshore grid connections to integrate offshore wind into the mainland grid. These projects are part of one of the largest offshore wind infrastructure programs in Europe, to be delivered between 2028–2031.


🧩 About the Team

You will join the Stations & Auxiliary Systems team, a group of 13 specialists covering civil, structural, and auxiliary systems engineering. The team plays a central role in the design and realisation of both offshore platforms and onshore converter stations.


🎯 Role Overview

The Lead Engineer will oversee the performance and development of a highly skilled engineering team, focusing on delivering the stations and auxiliary systems scope of these complex projects.

You will:

  • Lead, coach, and manage a technical team delivering station-related engineering (offshore and onshore).

  • Ensure high standards in design reviews, QA processes, and HSE performance.

  • Oversee workforce planning, including resource allocation and external support.

  • Act as a central liaison between project stakeholders across asset management, grid operations, and engineering.

  • Support organisational and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce cost.

  • Contribute to strategic engineering and planning initiatives across the program.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or similar.

  • 10+ years of technical project or engineering experience in offshore energy, infrastructure, or related sectors.

  • Strong leadership track record in multidisciplinary environments.

  • Experience in change management, restructuring, or scaling engineering teams is highly preferred.

  • Knowledge of HSE frameworks, quality standards, and offshore delivery models.

  • Proficient in Dutch and English.

  • Fit for offshore operations (in line with standard medical requirements).
