Technical Vessel Manager
As a Technical Vessel Manager at our client, you are responsible for the overall management and operational performance of one or more Dredging or Offshore vessels within the fleet. You play a crucial role in ensuring the profitability, efficiency, and strategic direction of your assigned vessels. You will ensure compliance with the long-term mission, vision, and strategy, and work closely with technical and operational teams to develop maintenance plans and achieve project goals. Additionally, you will oversee budget management, project coordination, and fleet support for technical interventions.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the high availability and high reliability of the vessels.
- Ensure compliance with the organization’s long-term mission, vision, and strategy for your vessels.
- Accountable for the profit and loss of the vessels. Optimize revenue, utilization, and maintenance with a long-term focus.
- Define and implement a long-term maintenance strategy in collaboration with Master and Chief Engineer.
- Responsible for Maintenance Intervention Projects, led by the Fleet Intervention Project Manager
- Act as the point of contact for Technical Engineering, Fleet Interventions and Reliability Engineering, ensuring effective collaboration and sharing of best practices across vessels.
- Oversee and manage the maintenance budget for each vessel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable vessel’s legislation and regulations.
- You hold a Masters (MSc) degree (e.g. Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field), and have equivalent experience gained through years of hands-on work in the maritime industry.
- Experience in leading teams and management, preferably in a maritime or technical environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders
- Ability to make strategic decisions, develop vision, and apply risk management.
- Ability to analyze data and reports and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Thorough understanding of maritime processes, maintenance, and technical systems.
- Familiarity with financial processes, procurement, contract management, and project management.
- You will be based at our headquarters but will regularly visit the vessels under your management (business trips) - therefore an EU Passport is also required.
