Maintenance Technician – High-Speed Rail (HSL)

📍 Region: Hoofddorp to Belgian border (The Netherlands)
📅 Shift-based role (24/5 with weekend on-call rotation)

Our client, a leading player in the rail infrastructure industry, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a dedicated and skilled team responsible for the maintenance and operation of the High-Speed Rail South (HSL-Zuid).

About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will work on the inspection, servicing, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems across critical railway infrastructure. The role covers technical buildings, tunnels, and power supply stations, with work performed in pairs and across disciplines.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance: cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, adjusting, testing, part replacement, and documentation.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Analyze and resolve technical faults through repair, component exchange, and system updates.
  • Log all activities and findings in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Operate within a 5-week shift cycle (day/night/evening), including weekend stand-by duty.

Your Profile
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in maintaining electromechanical installations (e.g., power switches, fire detection systems, HVAC, pumps, hydraulics, escape doors).
  • Strong safety awareness and communication skills; team-oriented.
  • Solid digital skills (laptop/tablet) and fluent in Dutch (speaking, reading, writing).
  • In possession of VCA VOL; certificates like H-EEO, H-IWV (Stipel), or OP-BBMI are a plus.
  • Preferably holds an MBO level 4 qualification in Technicus Engineer / Energy Technology.

Additional Details
Work area includes ~33 technical buildings, 4 tunnels, and 1 bridge.
Tunnel and bridge maintenance is performed exclusively at night, during train-free periods.

Standard shift hours:

Day (A): 06:45 – 15:15
Evening (B): 14:45 – 23:15
Night (C): 22:45 – 07:15

23% shift allowance applies.

Travel time is not compensated (up to 1.5 hrs each way).
