Software Developer/Solution Engineer – Harbor Cranes
A leading company in industrial automation and harbor crane operations is looking for a Software Developer/Solution Engineer to join their team in the Netherlands. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge software solutions, driving automation, remote control, and diagnostics for harbor cranes and related equipment.
Our client specializes in delivering advanced digital solutions for port operations, embracing Industry 4.0, IoT, Smart Industry trends, and AI to transform manual crane operations into fully automated and flexible terminal systems.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain monitoring software within WinCC OA for controlling complex crane systems
Contribute to the development of automation solutions for harbor cranes
Support commissioning and acceptance testing of crane systems
Track, document, and report on development progress
Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure seamless software-hardware integration
Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field
Experience with object-oriented programming (C++, C#, Java, .NET, JavaScript, ROS/ROS2, Rust)
At least 3 years of experience in WinCC OA
Familiarity with software integration and distributed environments
Minimum 3 years of experience in complex automation projects
Strong team collaboration and independent working skills
Business fluency in English (Dutch is a plus)
Valid driver's license
Preferred: Knowledge of container cranes, container terminals, industrial automation, or SIMATIC S7 programming
Duration: 6-8 months
