We ARE Renewables is looking for an Interface Manager Platform for one of our clients in the energy sector.

Large Projects Offshore (LPO) is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

As Interface manager you are part of the Platform team responsible for the realisation of the Offshore Stations (Platforms) of the Hollandse Kust windfarms Noord, West Alpha and West Beta. The windfarms will deliver a total of 2100 MW offshore wind energy and will be connected to the shore through these Platforms. The design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the Platforms is performed by the Platform contractor, reviewed by the platform project team. In the role of Interface Manager you are part of this team and will work closely with the Platform Lead Discipline Engineers. You will further liaise regularly with other workstreams and external parties. In this position you report to the Engineering manager Platforms, and replace him as deputy engineering manager on regular occasions.

Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the Platform Contractor manages all interfaces in accordance with the contract;
  • Identify eventually key interface risks throughout the project execution with emphasis on planning and SIMOPS and timely escalate potential interface issues to the Platform Contractor and Project team management;
  • Participate in and actively contribute to the (technical) interface meetings between the Platform Contractor and other TenneT contractors, e.g. the offshore cable contractor;
  • Participate in and actively contribute to the technical and organizational interface with TenneT’s external stakeholders, such as the Offshore wind farm operator and Rijkswaterstaat;
  • If required perform some reviewing activities;
  • As interface manager you are the deputy engineering manager and will act as replacement of the engineering manager when required;
  • Actively contribute to the correct handover of project deliverables from the Platform Contractor to the TenneT Operations department;
  • Together with our quality manager you will ensure that the project delivers required documentation to the different TenneT internal stakeholders according a TenneT internal defined process.

Requirements
  • A bachelor or master degree in Offshore / Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering domain;
  • Experience (3+ years) as a Project Engineer / Construction Engineer within the offshore wind and or oil & gas industry; experience with realisation of offshore HV platforms is preferential;
  • You have experience in and affection with working within multi-national teams; experience with participating in / coordinating of interfaces between different parties is advantageous;
  • You have excellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills. Further you are able to challenge and motivate the contractor, your own project colleagues as well as stakeholders;
  • Physical fitness and willingness to travel are essential.

Good to know:
• The platform (topside) for HKN west Beta is currently in the construction phase in the Antwerp area, commissioning is in Q2 2025. It is the third platform being built through the contractors combination Smulders and EQUANS;
• We are looking for a candidate with a technical backgrond (offshore, civil or equivalent), >3 years of relevant experience is sufficient, candidate will join a team with experienced colleagues;
• Focus will be on interface management. TenneT is looking for a technical candidate who can follow the entire process (from the design till the construction), whereby the candidate has to manage all the interfaces in different phases of the project. HV components are supplied, the main contractor (Smulders and EQUANS) have to coordinate this, whereby the contractor will also supply the secondary systems. The position is a kind of sub PL position, somewhere in between all parties and the contractors (incl. stakeholdermanagement);
• An English-speaking candidate is an option for this position.
