Required: Protection Automation & Control Engineer

We ARE Renewables is looking for a new team member for one of our clients within the renewables industry. A Protection Automation & Control Engineer with a good sense of humor. Someone who is able to enforce the engineering and commissioning team on energy & substation automation and distribution & transmission grid protection with knowledge and experience.

Your responsibilities:
  • During the commissioning period, you will be the responsible engineer on site;
  • Taking care of the commissioning issues and successful site acceptance test (SAT);
  • Doing stand-by services is also part of the job but paid additional;
  • You will work on the engineering, realization and commissioning phase within the project team.
  • Discussing technical issues with sales and other project engineers;
  • Report to the project manager considering progress and technical commitment with the customers.
  • You will provide technical documents and setup the hardware for configuration and technical tests;
  • During the factory acceptance test (FAT) you will guide the customer through the systems and answer their questions in close collaboration with the project manager;
Your profile:
  • An electrical engineering study with extensive work experience and a bachelor work level.
  • It is of great value if you should be familiar with products and solutions like SIPROTEC, SICAM, Ruggedcom, SCALANCE and Spectrum Power 5 and all their configuration and test tools like DIGSI 4 & 5, Toolbox II, Device Manager, SICAM PTS, OMICRON test universe.
  • Communication protocols like IEC 101, 1104, 71750, Profinet, MOD-us are mainly used and network topologies with fiber optic or CAT cabling for example RSTP will be applied.
  • Relevant IT knowledge if a must with detailed configuration of SCADA system, especially SICAM PAS and SCC.
  • Projects can be applied in The Netherlands but also abroad. Therefore, travelling should be no problem. Due to projects and hardware test work, living in the ‘Randstad’ region is recommended.
  • A driver’s license.
  • Customer reports and documentation are provided in Dutch or English. Writing and reporting on professional scientific level is requested.
  • It is a pre if you should have STIPEL Certification on WV, VCA VL and NEN 3140/3840.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security is a pre.
